Estimator – Transmission & Distribution
Location: Pennsylvania (Majority Remote)
Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
We're partnering with a well-established electrical utility contractor that's continuing to expand its presence across the Mid-Atlantic. They're looking to add an experienced Transmission & Distribution Estimator to support a growing pipeline of overhead, underground, and substation projects.
This is a predominantly remote position, with occasional travel to the Pennsylvania office, pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client meetings as required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for Transmission & Distribution projects.
- Review bid documents, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed labor, equipment, and material pricing.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings when required.
- Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure smooth project handoffs.
- Maintain estimating databases and stay current with market pricing and industry trends.
- Support proposal development and bid submissions within required deadlines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of estimating experience within the electrical utility construction industry.
- Strong background estimating Transmission & Distribution projects, including overhead and underground distribution.
- Experience bidding work for Exelon operating companies and/or FirstEnergy utilities is strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
- Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally for office meetings, job walks, and pre-bid meetings.
Compensation & Benefits
- $110,000 – $140,000 base salary (DOE)
