Estimator – Transmission & Distribution

Location: Pennsylvania (Majority Remote)
Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

We're partnering with a well-established electrical utility contractor that's continuing to expand its presence across the Mid-Atlantic. They're looking to add an experienced Transmission & Distribution Estimator to support a growing pipeline of overhead, underground, and substation projects.

This is a predominantly remote position, with occasional travel to the Pennsylvania office, pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client meetings as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for Transmission & Distribution projects.
  • Review bid documents, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed labor, equipment, and material pricing.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings when required.
  • Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure smooth project handoffs.
  • Maintain estimating databases and stay current with market pricing and industry trends.
  • Support proposal development and bid submissions within required deadlines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within the electrical utility construction industry.
  • Strong background estimating Transmission & Distribution projects, including overhead and underground distribution.
  • Experience bidding work for Exelon operating companies and/or FirstEnergy utilities is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
  • Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for office meetings, job walks, and pre-bid meetings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110,000 – $140,000 base salary (DOE)
