InfraRec is currently representing a confidential, billion-dollar electrical contractor with a rapidly expanding Substation Division seeking two Senior Project Managers — one in Ohio and one in Illinois.

This is a strategic growth hire within a division experiencing significant expansion across the Midwest. The organization offers the financial strength, backlog, and resources of a major national contractor, combined with the visibility and impact of joining a high-growth business unit.


The Role

The Senior Project Manager will lead utility-scale substation construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with full responsibility for execution, financial performance, and client relationships.

This individual will serve as a senior leader within the division, working directly with executive leadership and utility clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle management of substation construction projects (greenfield, brownfield, expansions, upgrades)

  • Own project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting

  • Manage schedules, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams

  • Serve as primary point of contact for utility and industrial clients

  • Support preconstruction, scope development, contract review, and risk mitigation

  • Drive safety, quality, and performance standards

  • Mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and field leadership

  • Identify and support additional growth opportunities within existing accounts


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience managing electrical substation construction projects

  • Strong background in utility T&D, substation EPC, or electrical contracting

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects with significant revenue and complexity

  • Strong financial management and cost control skills

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple active projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

  • PMP certification a plus


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $175,000 (DOE)
