Estimator – Transmission, Distribution & Substations (T&D/S)

Locations: Texas | Mississippi | Florida | Oklahoma | South Carolina
Salary: $85,000 – $175,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle

We're partnered with one of the nation's leading electrical utility contractors, with multiple openings for Estimators across several offices throughout the Southeast and South Central U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for T&D/S construction projects.
  • Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop detailed labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions during the estimating process.
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, and business development teams throughout the bid process.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.
  • Support proposal preparation and ensure bids are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Maintain estimating databases and stay current with market pricing and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Experience estimating Transmission, Distribution and/or Substation (T&D/S) construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction means and methods, project costing, and bid preparation.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
  • Experience preparing conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with major utility providers is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $85,000 – $175,000 (DOE)
